Resilience is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Now, with the extra challenges they face due to Covid 19, we need to equip them with the skills they need to flourish and thrive, despite these many difficulties and obstacles.
The field of Positive Psychology, which is the science of well-being, can offer us so many approaches and ideas for nurturing our children’s resilience, through a combination of support and skills. These include tapping into the power of Character Strengths such as bravery, love, kindness, gratitude and perseverance, and developing emotional regulation skills.
In this talk, Fiona Forman, (M. Sc. Applied Positive Psychology) who is a former teacher and co-author of the Weaving Well-Being programme, will share insights and research on resilience, as well as practical ideas for parents of children aged 5 -12 years.
